Advanced Works Estimating
Advanced Works Estimating, AWE, enables complex estimates for both small and large capital projects to be created from the ground up. Estimates can be adjusted and recalculated as required, and can be built manually or copied from templates. An estimates progress can be tracked by its status and different versions of an estimate may be created.
Unit rate estimates may be copied from other estimates or templates, while resource based estimates may be copied from task item rates or estimate rates. Tasks can be structured in a hierarchy and can be moved between parents. Overheads may be allocated at estimate, task or resource level and all estimates may be recalculated using different effective dates and are validated to ensure all actions are complete.
Actual costs may be imported from other systems via a standard interface or recorded within the Estimating System as they occur. These costs are then used in reports to compare actuals and estimates.
AWE Features
- All features are User Definable
- Business structures – areas, and departments within areas
- Calendars including accounting periods
- Unit classes
- Estimating status, categories, classes, location types and document types
- Resource types, cost types, resource names, suppliers, qualifiers, haulage types, haulage distances, haulage rates and resource rates
- Task codes, unit conversion rates, and unit rates
- Conversion factors
Importing actual costs
Actual transaction costs related to an estimate can be imported from other systems. The costs, when imported, are used in reporting actual versus estimate in estimating reports.
Estimate details can be transferred to project accounting and/or project management systems
A facility is provided to create, modify or delete projects from an estimate in the Estimating System. Budgets may also be transferred once the project has been created.
Day Sheet Report
The Day Sheet report provides details of resources per task that make up the estimate. Quantities, units, rates and totals are provided per resource with the target rate of the task also displayed.
Completed Works Report
The Completed Works report provides a summary of estimated and actual cost by task of the completed estimate. Header details, quantities, units, rates and totals are provided per task and comparison between the estimate and the actual costs are provided.
Completed Works Report by Type
The Completed Works Report by Type provides details, at task and resource level, of estimated and actual cost of the completed estimate. Header details, quantities, units, rates and totals are provided per task or resource and comparison between the estimate and the actual costs are provided.
A comparison of the rate versus the best rate achieved for this task for all estimates that fall into the best achieved rate date range is also provided
